Dutch Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Maxime Verhagen, to Indonesia
In the framework of his visit to Singapore, Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand, Dutch Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Maxime Verhagen will visit Jakarta on 14 January and Yogyakarta on 15 January. In Jakarta he will be received by president Yudhoyono and vice president Kalla. With his colleague Wirajuda he will finalise the text of an agreement that will further enhance the cooperation between both countries in a.o. the fields of the economy, security, justice, human rights, education and culture. In the upcoming period the heads of state of both countries will sign this Comprehensive Partnership Agreement. Furthermore Minister Verhagen will meet with the Indonesian minister of Justice and Human Rights, Minister Mattalata, as well as with human rights activists.
On 15 January Ministers Verhagen and Wirajuda will travel together to Central Java to visit the area that was hit by an earthquake in 2006. In Yogyakarta Minister Verhagen will meet with Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono.
On 16 January Minister Verhagen will travel on to Australia and New Zealand.
